How To Walk Mini-review
You know how to walk, right? But do you know HOW TO WALK RIGHT?
My name's Terry and you've probably read some of my work here on Relax and Reclaim including the mini-reviews I've posted here. Check 'em out!
Anyway, I recently picked up "How to Walk" by Thich Nhat Hanh.
The book is quite simple, yet it carries a profound depth that stays with long after you close the pages.
Thich Nhat Hanh has this lovely way of weaving mindfulness into everyday activities. Walking, which we often take for granted, becomes a beautiful practice of being present. gentle instructions encourage us to connect with each step and appreciate the world around us, whether it’s feeling the ground beneath our feet or noticing the sounds of nature.
What I found particularly striking was how accessible it felt. Hanh's philosophy is not just for seasoned practitioners; it's for anyone who wants to find a moment of peace in a busy day.
I tried applying his suggestions on my daily walks, and I felt shift in how I experienced my surroundings. Rather than rushing, I started to notice the little things—a flower, a breeze, or even the rhythm of my breath.
The book’s layout is straightforward, making it to revisit and practice whenever needed. There’s a warmth to his writing that feels like a calming presence, almost like having a wise friend guide you gently back to the here and now.
If you're looking for way to slow down and savor life a little more, I highly recommend giving "How to Walk" a read.
It’s a small treasure that can make a big difference in your daily routine.
