The First 20 Minutes Mini-review
Melissa here (again)! The team heard you guys liked my review of "The Relaxation Response" and decided to give me another mini-review, YAY!
Anyway, I just finished reading "The First 20 Minutes" by Gretchen Reynolds, and I have to say, it was an event for me in more ways than you think!
If you’re like me and sometimes struggle with finding the motivation to moving, this book is a breath of fresh air.
Reynolds does a fantastic job of breaking down the science behind exercise in a way that’s easy to digest and super relatable.
One of the aspects I loved is she emphasizes that you don’t need to spend hours at the gym to reap the benefits of exercise.
She really hones in on that initial 20 minutes—how it can do wonders for your body and mind.’s all about making those first few moments feel less daunting. I found it inspiring and left me feeling more inclined to just lace up my shoes and get out there.
Reynolds also shares some interesting anecdotes research that keep the reading light yet informative. It feels like she’s chatting with you over coffee, sharing tips and insights that you actually want to hear.
The tone is friendly and encouraging, which made it to connect with her messages.
Overall, I’d say this book is great for anyone who wants to kickstart their fitness journey or even just add a little more movement to their day. It’s not a heavy, but it’s packed with useful ideas that really motivate you to get those first 20 minutes in!
Highly recommended!
