The Life-Changing Magic Of Tidying Up Mini-review
Chase here and I am a life-long "pack rat". Everybody here knows that about me. I guess that's why I was chosen to do this review.
Thanks guys.
Anyway, I recently finished reading "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up" by Marie Kondo, and yes it actually did live up to the hype.
The book is a straightforward guide on decluttering organizing your space, but it’s so much more than just tips on cleaning.
Marie Kondo introduces her KonMari method, which encourages you to tackle your belongings by category rather than by room. I found this refreshing and easy to follow. The idea is to only keep items that "spark joy." It sounds a bit whimsical at first, but I was surprised at how effective it was in helping me be more mindful about I own.
The writing style is approachable and personal, which made it feel like I was having a chat with a friend about organizing. She shares her own experiences, which adds a nice touch and makes her feel relatable.
I appreciated how Kondo emphasizes the emotional connection we have with our things. It made me think twice about why I held onto certain items, and I ended up letting go of quite a bit without feeling guilty.
The book also encourages a mindset shift towards being more intentional with our belongings.
Overall, I found "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up" to be inspiring. It not only helped declutter my home but also gave me a new perspective on my possessions.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by clutter, I definitely recommend giving this book a read. It's a simple yet powerful approach to creating a more organized and joyful space.
Now I just have to start applying this to my own life... someday.
