Something new for all of you!

It's recipe time again, folks!

Believe it or not, I actually keep a catalog of recipes I've either gotten from others or created myself.

The goal here at Relax and Reclaim is to provide you with healthy and simple-to-make recipes that will hopefully become a part of your wellness menu for years to come!

I've had this smoothie recipe for a few years but was unable to locate it until recently while going through some old study notes.

Anyway, we always believe in trying out these recipes before we share them with you. Just to make sure they're up to par and tasty.

I call this drink "Morning Glory In A Glass". Not only is this drink effective in cleansing, but it is also quite tasty.

*Please note that there are nuts included in the list of ingredients, so if you have an allergy please consult with your physician or health provider first.*

When I made this drink before I used to just dump the ingredients into the blender and proceed with mixing. Bad choice.😵‍💫

Anyway, until you get used to the mixture, it would be advisable to follow the suggested measurements and adjust as you go. 

Here's the recipe for:

Morning Glory In A Glass


1 ripened, peeled (or unpeeled with the ends trimmed off if you have an industrial smoothie maker) banana

4-5 strawberries or other type of berries, or fruits

1 tablespoon of toasted wheat germ

1/4 cup each of almond milk and pure apple juice

In a coffee grinder, grind up around a teaspoon or less of the following:

* brown sesame seeds - high in lecithin, vitamin C, E, and Calcium. They improve liver function and provide constipation relief.

* sunflower seeds - high in protein, calcium, and iron. Many consider them to be a member of the "Superfoods" group which nourish the entire body (more on this in a later article).

* flax seeds - high in fiber and provide bulk for healthy eliminations.

* almonds - use between five and seven. They are high in calcium, phosphorus and have some B-vitamins, but are also high in calories.


After grinding the nuts and seeds, add them in the blender and mix everything together for about 2-4 minutes. If you need a little sweetness, add some honey. 🍯

Sometimes I'll add the powder of two or three acidophilus capsules for added benefits. Try it out, you may like it! 😋
