What You Don't Know About Vitamins May Sabotage Your Weight Loss Efforts, But There IS A Solution

Most of us know you shouldn'tsubstitute food with vitamin supplements.

However, its becoming more and more apparent that many of the foods we need for essential nutrients simply do not measure up.

So, what do you do if you can't receive the vitamins and minerals your body desperately needs?

Quite a few people are asking that and similar questions. Take for example this email excerpt from Tim O of Illinois:

"My sister Loretta and I are debating over the proper substitute for food-based nutrition. We both agree that a vitamin and mineral supplement is the best alternative to replacing nutrients missed in a healthy diet. However, we differ on the correct approach. Vitamin tablets, capsules, gummies or liquid? Which do you think is the best?"

Good question, Tim. Allow us to address this for you....

First, The Facts

It is estimated that roughly 50% of Americans utilize some form of vitamin or dietary supplement on a regular basis. However, a significant majority of people are unaware that well over 80% of your required daily dosage of nutrients and minerals are not even in the supplement they're taking. What's worse is that most can't even be absorbed by the body.

Many vitamin supplements come in pill form. Tablets and capsules were once thought to be the only way to get nutritional supplements.

Those days are over now.

The Benefits Of Good Nutrition

It's a well-known fact that once the human body detects there is a nutritional imbalance the brain gets triggered to find the missing nutrients at any cost. Trace nutrients are found in many of the foods we eat.

Keep in mind, the less healthy the food is, the fewer vitamins it contains.

It's always best to opt for healthy and nutrient-dense foods to fill this need. Unfortunately, we're not always near the foods we need to remain healthy. The sheer need for nutrients can sometimes guide us toward largely unhealthy food sources.

We eat whatever is around, put on weight and have to refer to an informative health blog for answers. Fortunately, you have found this blog and we'll be giving you some tips on how to beat this obstacle.

In short, if you don't have the highly nutritious foods you need on hand then you need supplements to fill that gap.

Types Of Vitamins

In general, non-alcohol based liquid vitamin supplements are considered to be more beneficial. This is mostly due to the rapid absorption of liquids into the bloodstream versus tablets and some gelatin-coated capsules.

By contrast, there are still a few people who prefer tablets or even "gummy" vitamin supplements.

Non-alcohol based liquid vitamins may be the key to balancing your
diet.

The key reason why liquid vitamin supplements are more beneficial than pills and tablets is due to the characteristics of their liquid base. In liquid form, vitamins are simpler for your body to assimilate and absorb into the digestive system as well.

Pills and most chewable vitamins require at least an hour (or more!!) to pass through the digestive system in solid form, which makes them  difficult to digest.

Liquid is absorbed almost instantaneously once it enters your body. As a result, liquid vitamins go through your body quicker and take effect faster. Liquid just happens to be easy to swallow as well, as you can add the liquid vitamin to your favorite juice, water or just drink it by itself.

About Those Chewables

In the case of gummy or solid chewables, you need to make sure you completely chew them up (20 or more chews) before swallowing. Otherwise, it could be difficult for your digestive system to completely absorb them.

Please don't misunderstand us about other chewables like gummy vitamins and hard or solid type chewables. Many of them are fortified with essential nutrients, but the binding and/or emulsifying agents used to manufacture them may actually counteract the nutrients once your digestive enzymes reach them.

At that point, you may as well take the rest of the pills and flush them down the toilet. That is exactly what happens when you take this type of vitamin.

Very few (if any) nutrients enter into the bloodstream due to the type of vitamin that was taken. As it was previously stated any nutritional deficiencies missing from your diet can cause you to eat more low quality foods. This of course leads to obesity.

Many chewable vitamins may not deliver the nutrients they promise due to the binding agents used in their production, which can hinder absorption and ultimately lead to nutritional deficiencies and unhealthy eating habits. It's crucial to choose vitamins that effectively contribute to your health rather than waste your efforts on ineffective options.

Bottom line, liquid vitamins ARE more effective than vitamin pills, period.
