The Blue Zones Mini-Review

Just finished reading Dan Buettner's "The Blue Zones Secrets for Living Longer". If you've never been on a cruise before, this book will make you feel like you did! It was a lovely voyage!

Imagine a book that sounds like a conversation with your wise, somewhat quirky uncle who has found the secret sauce to life—and believe me, it's not just kale.

Buettner invites us on a worldwide trip investigating the areas of the world where people live longest.

Exotic locations like Sardinia, Ikaria, and Okinawa—not precisely stopovers on your typical holiday schedule.

Every chapter is full with intriguing tales of centenarians who appear to have found the fountain of youth while savoring their daily toast of wine (cheers to that!).

The Power 9 lifestyle practices, which are basic enough for even us couch potatoes to try, were what I appreciated most.

Moving naturally, that is, I should stop thinking of walking to the fridge as exercise (procrastinating on which surely includes my dog. He's a wonderful listener.), and surrounding oneself with good company (which definitely qualifies on my to-do list).

Buettner's light, friendly writing is sprinkled with humor, so it never seems like you're trudging through a dull health pamphlet.

This book is not only about extending your life; it's also about enriching your years.

"The Blue Zones Secrets for Living Longer" is a delightful read whether you are seeking major lifestyle modifications or merely some lighthearted tales about "super-agers".

Do yourself a favor, pick up this book, kick back in your favorite lounger and enjoy!
