The Mindful Way Mini-Review
Hi, I'm Sarah. I do some of the research here on Relax and Reclaim. I just finished reading “The Mindful Way Through Stress” by Shamash Alidina.
I must admit that this book was a very enlightening read. From the start, Alidina has a natural talent for presenting mindfulness concepts in a simple to understand manner.
This book offers practical ideas and exercises you could begin incorporating into your daily life very immediately, not just theory.
I particularly liked how the book tackles stress entirely. Alidina teaches you how to recognise stress and see your ideas without criticism. Though it can initially be difficult to practice, the author tells understandable stories that really connect.
Thinking about my response to stress helped me to be more aware and, ultimately, more conscious.
The activities in the book are straightforward and feasible.
Particularly helpful for focusing on the present, the guided meditations were calm. After just a few sessions, I could sense a mental shift.
Even if some segments seemed a little repetitive, they provided excellent prompts to keep up with the activity.
All told, anyone seeking to better grasp their stress and incorporate mindfulness into their life will find The Mindful Way Through Stress a useful tool. I would strongly advise giving it a shot if you are overburdened.
