Slaying the Dragon — Part 5: The Path To Victory
The smoke has cleared.
The dragon has been driven back into its underground lair.
Standing alone amongst the rubble is the victor.
You.
Every saga needs an ending.
*And EVERY saga has a beginning chapter. Start here.⬇️
Slaying the Dragon: The Quest for Fresh Breath *
A moment in which the hero charges into the arena, not in fear but in confidence and peace of mind.
This is that moment.
Because not only is the battle against the dragon a matter of honor and glory, but also personal significance and the restoration of self-esteem.
Let’s put an end to this once and for all.
*The odds here seemed to be impossible, but impossible IS just a word...⬇️
Impossible Is Just A Word 2: When You Choose to Begin*
1. Stress: The Dragon’s Secret Ally
Stress provokes a dry mouth, which encourages the creation of sulfur, which in turn negatively affects breath.
It all starts with stress, which can be combated with special exercises, such as breathing exercises, to relieve tension and return the mouth to normal moisture levels.
Again, the key is to reduce stress and return the mouth to normal moisture levels.

2. Sleep: The Dragon’s Preferred Hunting Ground
The hours spent asleep are when the dragon performs its dirtiest work.
The mouth is semi-dormant, the flow of saliva is slowed, and snoring keeps the warrior awake.
All of this contributes to the creation of sulfur, which causes bad breath.
The solution lies in nasal breathing during sleep, a humidifier, and proper sleeping posture.
If there are problems with snoring and sleep apnea, consult a healthcare professional.

3. Diet: The Dragon’s Bounty
Food provides the energy needed to defeat the dragon.
However, a high-sulfur diet can lead to increased VSCs in the mouth, negatively affecting breath.
Meanwhile, a low-carb or ketogenic diet can cause the appearance of acetone, while fasting can actually cause the appearance of alcohol.
However, balanced nutrition and fluid intake keep the dragon at bay.

4. Daily Routines: The Hero’s Habitual Attire
Consistency is the key to victory in this battle.
A properly developed set of morning, midday, and evening hygiene procedures, along with regular visits to the dentist, will help keep the dragon at a distance.
The key is to be consistent, as the dragon is not deterred by exceptions.

5. Mindset: A Change in Attitude Toward Oneself
It is essential to change your attitude toward the battle with the dragon.
Despite the physiological causes of bad breath, there are also psychological and social reasons.
The fact that a person has bad breath affects their entire life and all aspects of their being.
That is why defeating the dragon can be more important to the hero than any award or honor.

This was an amazing series. I never would have connected bad breath (dragon breath) with an actual knight fighting a dragon! That was very clever and it made me rethink about the causes of bad breath and how to best deal with it. Another great series, guys!
ReplyDeleteHi Ocean Z! Thank you for your kind words! We really appreciate it! This series was supposed to start a few years ago under the title "Ferocious Halitosis". It was released for about 10 days before it was decided that it needed to b shelved due to the lack of interest in the subject. Fairly recently we started going through the archives and decided to revive (reinvigorate and expand) the series using up-to-date information and gave it the medieval flair that it now has. Hope that gives you a little better idea of how this series came to be. Thanks again for commenting!
